Chest Pains Update
They have greatly subsided. (Thank G*d!) I had a serious sit-down talk with my subconscious and explained to it, (substitute "inner child" for "subconscious" if that's your preference,) that giving me heart attack symptoms was not going to deter me from going to the gym. In fact, if my heart was at risk, then going to the gym was even more essential. After that sit-down talk and a few aspirin, the pains have faded to a faint ache along some of my ribs. Just in case you were wondering, I did not have this conversation out loud. I'm not one of those people who holds public conversations on the bus with an imaginary audience. Just wanted to clear that up.
In other news, I have finally tracked down a merchandiser for Transylvania University shirts and hats. My shirt is ordered and enroute; thus ensuring that I will remain "gother-than-thou" for some time. As with all things Kentucky (Die! Die! Die!), the whole process was a tedious ordeal from start to finish, but my need for all things goth-vampire-Dracula-Transylvania related would not be deterred. I have upgraded my workouts from 3x week to 6x week and at the moment my legs are shrieking masses of wobbly rubber. Don't know how I'm going to fit in time to blog. I can barely find time to eat dinner (fold laundry, pay bills, vacuum, clean the bathroom, walk the dogs, etc. etc. etc.) If someone out there has the secret of how all these young "yuppies-on-the-go" manage to juggle the time demands of their multiple high priority projects all while being romantically coupled and always looking bobo fabulous, please let me know.

The Latest
I've been having chest pains recently. (See the post below about how my temper has been going through the roof. The two are probably related.) So for the past few days I've been trying to spend a bit more time relaxing/less blogging. The good news is that exercise actually makes the pains go away, so my condition is probably not a pre-heart attack. The bad news is that they get worse when I'm sitting around at work - even in now stressful situations. So I worry about the pains, which makes the pains worse, which increases my worry, etc. etc. etc.
I think it's all psychosomatic. (At least that's what I keep telling myself.) I refuse to go to a doctor until it becomes an undeniable problem because, without health insurance, a visit to a cardiologist and EKG is going to set me back at least $500. So if I've cut back on blogging a bit lately it's because I don't want my last post to be "Call 9-1-1." : )
